LATE/INCOMPLETE ASSIGNMENTS
An incomplete assignment is one that is not FULLY complete on the date it is due. An incomplete assignment may be turned in one day late and will receive 10 percentage points taken off of the final grade. If it is not completed one day after its due date, the work will be accepted the second day after it is due with an additional 10 percentage points taken off the final grade.
If an incomplete assignment is not turned in the third day, a grade of ZERO will be entered in the gradebook, and the work will not be accepted.
Parents will be informed of missing work through a note in the student planner.
STUDENT PLANNERS
The Student Planner is a vital tool for communication and
organization. Students will be required to utilize their planners to
record daily assignments.
Incomplete assignments will be noted in the planner. Parents are encouraged to check his/her child's planner on a daily basis.
MAKE-UP WORK
Whenever a student is absent, I prepare an assignment sheet listing all of the day’s work. You may choose to have someone come by after school and pick up your child’s make-up work, or I can send it home with another child at your request. Your child will have one extra day for each day absent to complete the work. It is the student's responsibility to turn in make-up work on time.
BAND AND ORCHESTRA
In fifth grade, students are eligible to take band or orchestra lessons during the school day. It is the responsibility of the band or orchestra student to find out what assignments were given during the time that he/she was out of the classroom. The band or orchestra student is expected to complete and turn in any assignments given along with the rest of the class the following day--extra time is NOT given.
